  • What is Mat Pilates?

    Mat Pilates is a series of exercises performed on the mat. What sets it apart from other forms of strength training exercises are the following principles:

    • Centering

    • Precision

    • Breathing

    • Flow and Alignment

    Pilates isn’t about moving as intensely or as fast as you can. Each exercise is intentional and considered but will still challenge you!

  • How often should I practice Pilates in a week?

    There’s no such thing as too much Pilates! Realistically though, life gets in the way and we don’t always find the time to exercise. Come to class as often you’re able to commit. If you want to see and feel results in the form of lean, strong muscles, heightened mind-body awareness, alignment and balance, practicing at least 2-3 times a week. Remember that the choices you make off the mat also count to your goals. A healthy diet and effective stress-management, for example impact the body, so keep that in mind.

  • What are the benefits of Pilates?

    There are numerous physical and mental benefits of a consistent Pilates practice. Some of these include:-

    • Better posture

    • Core strength & stability

    • Improved balance & coordination

    • Increased self-confidence

  • I don't feel confident in my body, is Pilates for my body type?

    What’s unique and special about Pilates is the vast number of modifications and progressions for every body type, age and gender; an effective Pilates Instructor will never make you feel left out, insecure or incapable. A dedicated Pilates practice will not only improve your physical strength but also bring greater self-confidence on and off the mat!

  • What should i wear?

    Whatever you feel comfortable exercising in, though jeans or any other rigid clothing is not recommended. Leggings, shorts, or other form-fitting athletic clothing that allows you to move freely and without fuss is recommended.

  • What should I bring to class?

    Bring yourself, a mat and maybe a small towel and water. Socks are optional.
